Principal Dentist

Principal dentist Sanjeev

Sanjeev Tandon

After qualifying from Edinburgh university in 1991, Sanj worked as an associate in Glasgow and West lothian. Started working at Craigmillar Dental Centre in 1997 prior to purchasing the practice.

Enjoys all aspects of dentistry particularly cosmetic dentistry and implants. Sanj has been mentoring young dentists through the early part of their careers since 2005.

Outside work, Sanj enjoys playing golf, swimming and listening to music.


Dentist John Anderson

John Anderson

John is from Edinburgh, graduating from Edinburgh Dental School in 1993. Since qualifying, John has worked in general practice in and around Edinburgh and the Lothians, providing both routine dental care and more complex restorative and cosmetic treatment.


John McAleavey

Originally from Northern Ireland, John travelled to Dundee to do his dental training. He moved to Edinburgh shortly after, and joined the Craigmillar team in August 2016. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and strives to provide the highest level of patient care. He has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. Outside work, John enjoys travelling,running and plays for the local Gaelic football team.

Dentist Claire Hunter

Claire Hunter

Claire, originally from Aberdeen graduated from Dundee university in 2013. She completed her vocational training in Craigmillar and after a spell in a different Edinburgh practice returned to work with us in March. She has an interest in general dentistry with a particular passion for oral surgery and children's dentistry.

Out with the Practice Claire enjoys long distance running and plays for a local hockey team.

jasmin dingri

Jasmin Dingri

Jasmin qualified from the university of Aberdeen in 2015, and joined Craigmillar Dental Centre as a vocational trainee. After completing her vocational training year, Jasmin has stayed on as an associate dentist. Jasmin particularly enjoys children's dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. Away from work, she enjoys running and cooking.


Ashley McLean

Ashley, after qualifying from university of Dundee joined the Craigmillar Dental team in August 2016 to complete her vocational training year. Ashley enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a keen interest in children's dentistry. Outside of dentistry, Ashley enjoys spending time outdoors, running and cycling.


Our hygienist joined the team in October 2012. Her caring and sensitive manner and the skills she brings to the practice, provides patients at Craigmillar dental centre with another valuable service to help improve their oral health and also to increase patient education.

Reception Staff


Margaret, Carol and Sheila

Meet our friendly, courteous and professional reception staff. They are sensitive and knowledgeable to help patients make their visit to Craigmillar dental centre as comfortable as possible. Their experience and understanding of many aspects of dentistry make them an integral and important part of our team. Our reception staff are very approachable and willing to help with any queries patients may have about any aspect of the practice.

Our team of Qualified dental nurses are all registered with the GDC. They receive regular training in cross infection control and CPR to ensure the safety of our patients. Their calm and reassuring manner along with their knowledge and organisation ensure high standards of patient care.

Childsmile Nurses

Since our Chidsmile started in October 2011, we have two experienced dental nurses who are qualified to carry out our Childsmile program.

Their caring and gentle nature make them ideal for treating our young patients. Their mission is to keep improving the oral health of the children we see by the treatment they provide and to help educate them and their parents/guardians in preventing dental problems.

Botox Treatment

BOTOX Cosmetic Treatment

Our dentist, Claire Hunter is certified to inject skin treatments such as BOTOX at our dental practice. Botox is a mild purifier toxin injected beneath the skin that eliminates wrinkles by relaxing the muscles of the face. Botox helps to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth, at the corner of the eyes, and on the forehead.

One Area - £197.00

These treatments are safe and have been used on millions of patients worldwide. Although most people are good candidates for the treatment, if you are pregnant, taking certain medication it may not be suitable for you. Although this treatment is temporary, it will eliminate wrinkles for up to six months and can be repeated to maintain the desired effect.
